The Rights of Children and Families

Professor Brian Gran participated in the Jefferson Science Fellowship Distinguished Lecture Series in July 2021. Each year, the Jefferson Science Fellows deliver lectures on topics of their choosing while on tenure at the Department of State and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Professor Gran delivered a lecture on the Rights and Reintegration of Family Members of Foreign Fighters.

In May 2021, Professor Gran was invited by the Oxford Children’s Rights Network to give a presentation to Oxford University’s Bonavero Institute of Human Rights. Gran’s presentation concentrated on his book, The Sociology of Children’s Rights, which Polity Press recently published. The audience consisted of academics and children’s rights advocates. The Bonavero Institute of Human Rights is part of the Faculty of Law of Oxford University.
