Each spring, faculty and staff nominate students from their department for awards offered through the School of Graduate Studies. The Graduate Dean’s Instructional Excellence Award is presented to graduate student assistants who demonstrate outstanding achievement in undergraduate instruction and recognizes their exceptional skill and dedication. The Ruth Barber Moon Award is presented to one graduate student per department for demonstrating academic promise and leadership ability. The Marie Haug Award is presented annually to graduate students who have shown exemplary performance in gerontological studies. Established in 1990 for her pioneering work in aging at CWRU, the award honors Dr. Haug who co-founded the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing’s University Center on Aging and Health in 1978.
