You are invited to join the Department of Sociology on Monday, October 15, 2018 for “W. E. B. Du Bois at the Center: From Science, Civil Rights Movement, to Black Lives Matter” presented by Aldon Morris, Leon Forrest Professor of Sociology and African American Studies, Northwestern University. Professor Morris’s current working explores the role of W. E. B. Du Bois in the founding of American Sociology and new developments in research on the civil rights movement. His most recent book is The Scholar Denied: W. E. B. Du Bois and the Birth of Modern Sociology. The lecture will be held in Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Community Studies Center, Room 108, from 1:30 – 3:00 PM. Light refreshments will be provided.
